The first photographs I took were
of the landscape. It was there that I became fascinated
by the forms and surfaces I could create in black and white
tones. I had found a challenge that, even as a young man,
I understood would be a life-long pursuit. Today, I still
look into the landscape with the same curiosity and enthusiasm--exploring,
pushing, working to discover new visual relationships in
the continually changing, transparent surfaces along the
water's edge.
