What Can You See?

Viewing full-scale, 40x64 prints of this work provides an interesting contrast to the small images in the Invisible Landscape galleries. With the web images, you focus on the shapes of recognizable objects. The large prints diminish the sense of looking through a window at objects and draws your eye to what is in transition: the movement from the water’s surface to below, the interplay between reflected and solid objects, the movement of values across the print’s surface. In the large prints the very nature of the landscapes depicted are less clear, and your eye is free to roam across the print’s surface and render an image in your mind’s eye.
