My Year at Riddell

In 2020, we all struggled to find a new normal as the cornavirus sent us into isolation and filled us with apprehension. I turned to the camera and began walking a short loop trail at the Robert V. Riddell State Park near my home twice weekly to get me out of the house and engaged.

The routine of observing the same landscapes again and again deepened my connection to the park and myself. I looked forward to what the seasons would reveal and felt a renewed sense of possibilities and well-being photographing the changes around me.

These photographs were created over my year of walking at Riddell with an iphone, a handheld full-frame camera, and a digital back on a view camera.
